Danger of Death

This week, AKT returned to the nuclear industry to deliver a programme focussing on the cultural, organisational and historical circumstances which contributed to a near fatal electric shock. Several of our clients have recently reported issues, not with Extra High Voltage systems, but with mains electricity. Worryingly, some people believe that it is not possible to receive a fatal shock from a 240 volt mains supply. This is, of course, a dangerously false belief. The workshop concentrated on themes of mindfulness, the management of risk and weak signals, as well as the notion of ‘well minded actions with unintended consequences’.
