For ten years now, AKT has been working with the World Institute for Nuclear Security and the Japan Atomic Energy Agency to deliver nuclear security programmes as part of the JAEA’s annual conference in Tokyo. 2020’s conference had to be postponed, and as travel might still be difficult, the decision was made to deliver the next conference online. To this end we filmed the scenes in the greenscreen studio and sent the footage to Japan for translation and subtitling and, in February 2021, AKT will facilitate our session remotely using simultaneous translation. Although we will miss visiting our wonderful Japanese hosts and exploring Tokyo again, AKT is extremely proud that we’ve been able to adapt and use the available technology to deliver our session as part of the 2021 conference.
