I visited the North Sea Memorial Rose Garden in October 2018 before we delivered our very first Piper Alpha workshop in Aberdeen, and seeing the 167 names on the plinth had a profound effect on me. The Piper Alpha tragedy was a turning point not only in the oil and gas industry but in all industries, out of which came many of the safety procedures which are commonplace around the world today. We must always remember the terrible events of that day and never stop striving to keep people safe at all times.
